Fan-made 2v2 Commander siege format

Breach the Wall. Defeat the Keeper. Steal the Flag.

Commander the Flag turns casual Commander into a team objective battle: break the enemy Tower, survive its guardian, carry the Flag home, and hold both banners for three upkeeps.

The siege loop

How a game is won

The format replaces player life totals with team Towers. You win by controlling both Flags in your Tower long enough for the table to feel the pressure.

1

Break the Wall

Each Tower starts at 20 Wall HP. Attack it, trample through blockers, or aim damage at it.

2

Assault the Keeper

At 0 Wall HP, attackers assault the Flag Keeper. Evasion helps reach it, but never bypasses it.

3

Capture the Flag

After the Keeper falls, any creature with base power 2 or greater can take the enemy Flag.

4

Survive the Retreat

The carrier gains Ward {2}, but the Flag drops if the carrier leaves the battlefield.

5

Hold for 3 Upkeeps

Secure both Flags in your Tower and keep them there for three consecutive team upkeeps.

Rules source

Readable, editable rules

The format rules now live in Markdown so the playtest document can evolve without fighting a PDF workflow.

New in the updated draft

  • Shared team turns now work like a Two-Headed Giant style turn structure.
  • Victory count is checked cleanly after upkeep Flag checks.
  • The Wall cannot be repaired once it has broken for the first time.
  • When a Wall breaks, that team gains 20 Morale.
  • Poison, infect, wither, life loss, and alternate wins are explicitly handled.

Flag Keepers

Ten alpha-test guardians define the first public pool. Their card-frame art sets the visual language for the whole site: brass, parchment, torchlight, and dangerous little bosses.
